Jon McClure of Reverend and The Makers has revealed that the band’s third album is “90% done”.
The frontman took to Twitter to let fans know the news. He wrote:
I’m comin back to the uk tomorrow! I’m gonna get right the fuck involved. albums 90% done ! Very very exciting x
He continued, somewhat cryptically: “I will make an announcement next week on what’s what re the new reverend and the makers album(s) x”, suggesting that there will be more than one record or perhaps a double album to follow 2009’s ‘A French Kiss In The Chaos’.
Last summer Reverend And The Makers released a song inspired by the outbreak of rioting in the UK. McClure spoke about the song, which was based on an unfinished track and entitled ‘Riot’, saying: “I feel it my job as an artist to talk about and react to what’s happening in my own way”.
He also added that the song wasn’t part of the new Reverend And The Makers album, explaining: “This isn’t part of any forthcoming Reverend album, it’s not gonna be a political record in the slightest but to keep schtum when there’s rioting in the streets just ain’t me.”
