Reverend & The Makers’ Jon McClure challenges Piers Morgan to boxing match

Who will be 'The Heavyweight Champion Of The World'

Reverend & The Makers’ frontman Jon McClure has hit out at Piers Morgan’s comments about Cruz Beckham’s music career, challenging the TV presenter and former tabloid editor to a boxing match.

Today saw the 11-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham launch his music career with debut single ‘If Every Day Was Christmas’ – before Morgan slammed the ‘fame-hungry’ Beckhams for ‘pimping out their child’.

Now McClure, inspired by Katie Hopkins accepting Ellie Goulding’s challenge to fight, has asked Morgan to step into the ring.

After Morgan wrote “The Beckhams pimping out their 11yr-old son Cruz into the Christmas single pop market is a new low even by their standards,” McClure replied with ‘”Standards” … You bein the expert on them eh’ – before the challenge was made:

This comes after earlier this year when McClure came to blows with The 1975’s Matty Healy online – accusing them of sounding like Boyzone and One Direction.

He went on to call Healy a ‘nobsack’ and said that ‘mass popularity and quality are often mutually exclusive’. Healy replied in the style of Kanye before concluding “No seriously though. We make music for NOW. You make music for Carling adverts in 2006.”
