RICHARD ASHCROFT has cancelled his UK tour after breaking two ribs when he fell from the stage at a gig in BIRMINGHAM on Tuesday (December 12).
According to Ashcroft?s website, [url=]www.richardashcroft.co.uk, he returned to play an encore, despite being in considerable pain after the accident. The Brixton shows will be rescheduled for February.
A spokesperson was unavailable for comment as NME.COM went to press.
The former Verve singer had kicked off his tour at Manchester Apollo on December 3, and gone on to play dates at Dublin Olympia and Glasgow Barrowland. He had earlier supported Madonna at Brixton Academy on November 28.
His US tour, originally supposed to take place in November but postponed due to illness, is due to open in Chicago as scheduled on January 19.
