Richard Ashcroft will be joined on stage by his wife KATE RADLEY when he makes his debut UK solo live performance at the V2000 festivals (August 19 & 20), nme.com can reveal.

She’ll join Richard onstage along with ex-Verve drummer Pete Salisbury, bassist Pino Palladino and lap-steel guitarist BJ Cole. Richard will also be playing guitar.

The gigs are likely feature a selection of old and new Ashcroft material, including a version The Verve‘s 1997 comeback single ‘Bittersweet Symphony’.

Ashcroft recently told nme.com: “I’d like to play it. I might strip it down to the real essence of what it is – a really raw blues song.”

nme.com can also reveal that Kate Radley, who used to play keyboards in Spiritualized, also played on Richard‘s forthcoming solo album ‘Alone With Everybody’, out on June 26 through Hut Recordings.

The title of the album was inspired by a poem by American author Charles Bukowski. The final tracklisting is ‘A Song For The Lovers’, ‘I Got My Beat’, ‘Brave New World’, ‘New York’, ‘You On My Mind (In My Sleep)’, ‘Crazy World’, ‘On A Beach’, ‘Money To Burn’, ‘Slow Was My Heart’, ‘C’mon People (We Are Making It Now)’ and ‘Everybody’.

Speaking to nme.com last week, Ashcroft revealed he plans to release either ‘Get My Beat’ or ‘Brave New World’ as the follow-up to his next single ‘Money To Burn’, released on June 12 through Hut.
