The former Verve singer heads out on his own...
Richard Ashcroft has announced details of his first major tour as a solo artist taking in 13 European dates during September and October.
The former Verve frontman will kick off in Brussels on September 20 and finish on October 7 in Rome. The news follows details of the German dates as revealed by nme.com earlier this week. At present no UK dates have been announced.
Ashcroft played his first full scale public show in the early hours of Monday morning (August 7) at the Benaccasim Festival in Spain. In a set that featured many of the highlights from his solo album ‘Alone With Everybody’, Ashcroft also dropped in a few Verve standards including ‘Sonnet’, ‘Lucky Man’ and ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’.
He will make his long awaited UK appearance during two headlining shows at the V2000 festival taking place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of August 19-20.
On the eve of the festival (August 18) Ashcroft will take part in an exclusive webcast and live webchat on nme.com.
Ashcroft will answer fans’ questions and play an exclusive three-song acoustic set at 7pm BST.
