Richard Ashcroft reveals ‘homecoming’ gig support

Star names set to back the former Verve man

Richard Ashcroft has revealed the first bands who will be joining him at his ‘homecoming’ Manchester show in the summer.

The star will be supported at Old Trafford Cricket Ground on June 17 by Razorlight and The Feeling with more guests to be announced soon.

As previously reported on NME.COM, Ashcroft releases ‘Music Is Power’, the follow-up to the Top Ten hit ‘Break the Night With Colour’, on April 17.

The CD and 7” are backed with ‘Long Way Down’, while the DVD contains the video, and live versions of ‘Music Is Power’ and ‘Break The Night With Colour’ recorded at London’s Kings College.

Ashcroft embarks on his second sold-out UK tour of the year in May, including three sold-out nights at London Brixton Academy.

He will also appear at the Isle Of Wight festival on June 11 and headlines the NME Stage at T In The Park on July 9.
