RICHARD ASHCROFT played the final show of his tour of the north American continent in VANCOUVER last night (February 7), two days after he pulled a gig in SAN FRANCISCO because his son fell ill.
The former Verve frontman’s boy Sonny fell ill in Los Angeles on Monday (February 5), and doctors advised Ashcroft and his wife Kate Radley, the former Spiritualized keyboard player, that the child was too ill to travel.
At present there are no plans to reschedule the San Francisco date.
Ashcroft will play three shows at London’s Brixton Academy in two weeks (February 21, 23 & 24). Ashcroft fell from the stage of Birmingham Academy during December last year, breaking two ribs, and forcing the postponement of the original two Brixton dates.
