The penultimate date of the star's tour of the US and Canada is surprisingly pulled for "unexpected personal reasons"...

RICHARD ASHCROFT pulled out of the penultimate date of his tour of AMERICA and CANADA on Monday night (February 5).

Fans were sent an email from San Francisco venue Bimbo’s 365 saying: “The Richard Ashcroft performance originally scheduled for tonight has been postponed due to unexpected personal reasons. A new date will be announced shortly.” It added that tickets for the show will be valid for the rescheduled date.

It is not yet clear whether tonight’s (February 7) show at Vancouver Commodore will be affected. It is the final date in the 13-date tour. He then returns to Britain for three nights at London Brixton Academy on February 21, 23 and 24.

At press time, Ashcroft’s spokesperson was unavailable for comment on why the San Francisco show was cancelled. According to one fan who contacted NME.COM, San Francisco fans were especially let down as it is the second time that he has postponed his show there.

There is expected to be an official announcement on Ashcroft’s own website, [url=], later today.
