The US rapper will appear at the National Indoor Arena on November 15
Rick Ross has been confirmed as the headliner of this year’s BBC 1Xtra Live showcase in Birmingham.
The US rapper will appear at the city’s National Indoor Arena (NIA) on November 15, headlining a bill that also includes Krept & Konan, Fuse ODG, Boy Better Know, Jess Glynne, Lethal Bizzle, Sigma and Tinashe.
Ross had already announced that he’llplay a London show at IndigO2 the day before the 1Xtra Live showcase (November 14).
The dates come ahead of Ross’ new album, ‘Hood Billionaire’, which is tipped for release on November 24. The LP follows his sixth studio album, ‘Mastermind’, which was released earlier this year.
At the start of 2014, a US court ruling allowed Rick Ross to continue using his stage name. The rapper, real name William Roberts II, had been challenged by a former drug kingpin, ‘Freeway’ Ricky Ross, for appropriating his name and likeness. Using the First Amendment in the United States’ Constitution, which regards, among other things, freedom of expression, the $10 million lawsuit by the reportedly reformed Ricky Ross came to nothing.
