Singer tells Manchester Arena crowd to "cut that shit out"
Rihanna chastised fans at Manchester Arena on Tuesday (July 16) after she was pelted with crisps during her performance.
Pausing after her track ‘Rude Boy’, the singer – who had reportedly arrived on stage an hour late – stopped to pass comment on members of the audience throwing gifts on stage.
“When you throw shit up here, that’s an epic fail,” she said. “I wanna get your gifts but I don’t want you to knock my people out.”
Fans then responded by throwing crisps at the singer. Clearly angered, she said: “I swear to God, cut that shit out! Really, chips? Chips though? That’s that important?!”
Earlier this month, it was reported that Rihanna sent a £3,500 ($5,000) cheque to a Chicago high school to cover the costs of her visit there earlier this year. The singer left students waiting for over four hours before she arrived to perform a brief concert on March 22 at Barrington High School. They were given free concert tickets and signed merchandise and CDs by her team in a bid to make up for her tardiness.
