World tour continues to be dogged by problems on the road
Rihanna‘s gig in Canada last night (March 25) was delayed by over 90 minutes after her production crew were stopped by border officials.
The singer was due to play at Winnipeg’s MTS Centre when vehicles containing stage equipment and props were searched by customs. The star arrived at the venue in the late afternoon, but couldn’t prepare for her show until the production trucks were given the all-clear by border officials.
The singer took to Twitter to warn her fans of her impending delay. She wrote: “They held my trucks at the border!!! This is not a good look for Winnipeg! My stage is in those trucks, disassembled! This means, the entire production could potentially start at a later time. My bus and I are at the venue! Still no trucks!'”
Her latest delay comes just days after she turned up four hours late for a school charity show in Chicago, which she blamed on traffic. Her current stateside tour ran into difficulties from the outset after she had to cancel two dates in Boston and Baltimore earlier this month after she was diagnosed with laryngitis.
