Rihanna scores sixth Number One in UK singles chart

Plus there are singles entries for Florence And The Machine and Marina And The Diamonds

Rihanna has shot straight to the top of the UK singles chart tonight (October 9) with her Calvin Harris collaboration ‘We Found Love’.

The singer scored her sixth chart topper after the track was released ahead of her UK ‘Loud’ tour last Wednesday (October 5).

The video shoot for the track caused controversy recently after a farmer forced Rihanna to cover up after objecting to her “state of undress”.

Her chart topper capped off an eventful week for the singer who kicked off her opening show at London’s O2 Arena by taking the Tube to her own concert.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, Marina And The Diamonds went in at 25 with ‘Radioactive’ while Florence And The Machine were two places further down with comeback single ‘Shake It Out’.

In the UK album chart James Morrison held on to the top spot with his comeback album ‘The Awakening’ despite competition from You Me At Six who went in at Number Three with ‘Sinners Never Sleep’.
