Rihanna is making her new single ‘We Found Love’ available for fans to download from midnight tonight (October 4) to coincide with her UK tour, which kicks off with ten shows at London’s O2 Arena tomorrow (October 5).
The London O2 Arena shows are a record for the venue, with the 10 shows adding up to the longest run for a female solo artist since the O2 opened in 2007. She also has dates in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield and Nottingham.
Quite how raunchy they are remains to be seen – she received criticism from people including Mel C from the Spice Girls for being “too sexual” during past performances.
The singer said:
I love Rihanna, I think she’s a fucking brilliant artist, with great songs, a great record and she looks fantastic. But she’s not a mum. Maybe if she becomes one she’ll feel different. I hope so anyway.
The release is all part of the Rihanna: UNLOCKED campaign which allows fans to get hold of interactive material through a series of games. For more information on getting your hands on the song, keep an eye on Rihanna’s Facebook page.
Rihanna‘s sixth album, the follow-up to ‘Loud’, will be called ‘Talk That Talk’. The album’s release date is November 21.
