Rihanna requests less-restrictive court order against Chris Brown

He is due in court for sentencing today (August 5)

Rihanna has asked that a restraining order be cancelled against Chris Brown that requires him not to come within 50 yards of her.

Brown is due in court today (August 6) in Los Angeles to face sentencing after pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend in February.

“If asked, we will tell the court that all that’s necessary is a level-one order: That Brown not annoy, molest or harass her,” Rihanna‘s lawyer Donald Etra told People. “No stay-away order was ever requested by Rihanna, nor did she ever believe it was necessary.”

Rihanna will not be at the hearing today, but Brown will.

He is expected to get five years probation and 180 days of community labour, which he would serve in his home state of Virginia. Brown will also be required to undergo domestic violence classes for a year. A charge against him for making criminal threats will more than likely be dropped.
