Nu-metal band give pop single a head-banging twist
Nu-metal band Korn have remixed Rihanna single ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’, transforming the song into a mosh-pit ready anthem.
The single, which Rihanna released earlier this year, is transformed by the band; who have given no explanation for why they have decided to rework the track. The version heard below appeared on the band’s YouTube account earlier today (July 10).
The singer’s forthcoming album ‘R8’ is expected later this year with ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ and ‘American Oxygen’ both expected to feature alongside the Kanye West and Paul McCartney collaboration ‘FourFiveSeconds’.
Meanwhile, the co-director of the ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ video recently said that Rihanna wanted to surprise people and make an impact with the controversial clip.
Berne is part of the Megaforce collective, four directors working across music, film and advertising. He worked alongside Rihanna on the ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ video that premiered online last week (July 2) and has divided fans with its mix of violence and nudity.
Speaking to NME, Berne – who has previously directed videos for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Two Door Cinema Club and Is Tropical – said that the narrative was already in place when he came on board and that it was his job to bring the video to life.
The premise of the video has some background in reality, with Rihanna taking a former accountant to court in 2009 after losing millions and almost going bankrupt.
