Rihanna pays tribute after being in Nice during terror attack

Singer is 'safe' but has cancelled her concert in the French city

Rihanna has cancelled a concert in Nice following a terror attack in the city on Thursday night (July 14). She has also paid tributes to “the victims and their families”.

Last night, a truck ploughed into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the southern city. The crash left 84 people dead and 18 others seriously injured. The driver of the truck was later shot dead by police. Reports suggest that the incident is being treated as a terror attack.

The singer was in the city during the attack but a representative has confirmed to People Magazine that she is “safe”.

However, she’s been forced to cancel her planned concert at the city’s Allianz Stadium that was scheduled for Friday night (July 15).

Rihanna wrote on Instagram, “Due to the tragic events in #Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families”.

Meanwhile, the music and film world has reacted to the Nice terror attack.
