The artist is currently working on the long-awaited follow-up to her eighth studio album 'Anti', which came out in January 2016
Rihanna has told her fans that new music is on the way, indicating that a new album will arrive in 2018.
The Barbadian artist is currently working in the studio on new material, with a follow-up to 2016’s ‘Anti’ expected to arrive at some point this year. One source close to Rihanna recently claimed that the singer is working on two albums’ worth of new music.
Work on Rihanna’s ninth studio album is underway, with the 30-year-old telling fans on Instagram late last week that new material will emerge soon. Responding to fan comments on one of her Instagram posts, Rihanna told one fan who said “We want Fenty MUSIC” that “she coming sis!”
Another fan questioned whether Rihanna had “forgotten” about her music career – “HOW! Y’all would never let me Lolol,” Rihanna replied.
Word on when that new music might materialise has yet to emerge, however.
Last month, Rihanna was named in TIME‘s 100 Most Influential People List.
Writing about her inclusion in the list, Adele commented: “She has designed and conquered an entire lane of her own. The innovative and groundbreaking world of Rihanna that no one else will ever be safe in and get away with copying. She makes her own rules and bends ours.”
