ROB
ZOMBIE has recruited members of LIMP
BIZKIT, BEASTIE
BOYS and SLAYER
to appear on his forthcoming album ‘THE SINISTER URGE’.
The
record is due for release on October 29 via Geffen, and features
Kerry King of Slayer,
Tommy Lee, Limp Bizkit‘s
DJ Lethal, Beastie
Boys/a> ‘ DJ Mixmaster Mike and on one track, a 30-piece
orchestra.
In addition, the song ‘Iron Head’ features Ozzy
Osbourne. Speaking about the collaboration,
Zombie said: “I’d originally sang the
whole song myself. I didn’t write it with Ozzy
in mind, but after it was done I thought he’d be cool to have on it. It just
seemed like an obvious thing to do and then I thought it was a good contrast
between our voices, so rather than just singing parts, I thought it would be cool
if it came in and out.”
As previously reported on NME.COM,
earlier this year Universal declined to release Zombie‘s film ‘House of 1000 Corpses’. The ghoulish singer
said he was surprised the film was pulled and that there’s still no timetable for
the movie’s release.
He continued: “We were pretty far before anyone acted
shocked. Then again, right at that moment the political climate was not real
great for a movie like ours. We were under attack from Lieberman, so I don’t
know. Sometimes things can seem real different depending on what happens, like
right now. There’s a lot of songs being yanked off the radio right now that a
week ago didn’t seem like anything.”
