Now the pair are aiming for the Christmas Number One - but it's not looking good for Jacko...

ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ duet of ‘SOMETHIN’ STUPID’ with NICOLE KIDMAN has entered the singles charts at Number One tonight (December 16). The former member of Take That also held on to the top spot in the album charts with ‘Swing When You’re Winning’.

Robbie toppled DANIEL BEDINGFIELD from the top spot, leaving his ‘GOTTA GET THROUGH THIS’ at Number Two. Robbie and Nicole will now be hoping they can hold on for a week and secure the UK Christmas Number One next Sunday (December 23).

SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR fell just one place to Number Three with ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’, while STEREOPHONICS held on at Number Five with their version of ‘Handbags and Gladrags’.

After Robbie and Nicole, the highest new entry was Ian Van Dahl’s ‘I Will’ at Number Five, followed by Samantha Mumba’s ‘Lately’ at Number Six.

Other new entries on this week’s chart include Feeder with their ‘Just A Day EP’ at Number 12, ‘Son Of A Gun (I Betcha Think This Song)’ by Janet Jackson featuring Carly Simon at Number 13 and Kosheen with ‘Catch’ at Number 15.

Further down, Emma Bunton just scrapes into the Top 20 at Number 20 with ‘We’re Not Gonna Sleep Tonight’, while Starsailor’s ‘Lullaby’ enters at 36. But the real surprise on this week’s chart is Michael Jackson’s ‘Cry’ which enters at a lowly Number 25.

There was little change on the album chart top 50.
