Bookies shorten their odds on 'Somethin' Stupid' being the nation's favourite on December 25...

ROBBIE WILLIAMS and NICOLE KIDMAN are still in line to top the Christmas singles tree this year, according to high street record chain HMV.

Bookies William Hill have also shortened their odds on the pair’s cover of ‘Somethin’ Stupid’ hitting the top of the Christmas chart, which will be compiled on Sunday December 23, to 4/6 following the televising of Robbie‘s Royal Albert Hall concert on BBC1 last weekend (November 17).

William Hill have also taken heavy betting on Robbie Williams securing the Christmas Number One album with ‘Swing When You’re Winning’, which is rated as the at 1/2 favourite, knocking back Madonna to second place at 7/4 and Gabrielle third favourite at 10/1 with their respective hits compilations ‘GHV2’ and ‘Dreams Can Come True’.

However, HMV a tipping Gabrielle‘s collection to beat Robbie to the Christmas Number One album slot, outselling Madonna‘s ‘GHV2’ in second place, with Robbiein lowly sixth position.
