Voice deemed too weak to perform 'Somethin' Stupid' live...
NICOLE KIDMAN pulled out of a planned duet with ROBBIE WILLIAMS at his LONDON ROYAL ALBERT HALL gig at the last minute, because she was “too shy”.
‘Moulin Rouge!’ star Nicole was due to sing with Robbie on their version of ‘Somethin’ Stupid’, from his album ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ at the concert on Wednesday night (October 10).
But despite her all-singing, all-dancing role in the current Baz Luhrmann box-office smash, she decided that her voice was too weak to stand up to the scrutiny of the 3500-strong black-tie crowd, who’d paid up to #175 per ticket for the one-off event.
Nicole, in London filming her latest movie ‘The Hours’, instead watched the show from the audience, The Sun reports today (October 12).
The concert will be shown on the BBC on November 17 just before the album’s release on November 19 through Chrysalis.
‘Somethin’ Stupid’ is to be released before the end of the year and is being tipped as a possible Christmas Number One in the UK singles charts.
