The star's double A-side 'Eternity/The Road To Mandalay' is seeing off competition from the likes of D-12 and Wyclef Jean...

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is set for another Number One single, with his double A-side, featuring new track ‘ETERNITY’ and ‘THE ROAD TO MANDALAY’.

If initial sales figures yesterday (July 9) are representative of the rest of the week, the track, which also features a cover of Queen‘s ‘We Are The Champions’, will enter the UK charts at Number One this coming Sunday (July 15).

Its main rival, D12’s ‘Purple Pills’, is set to be the second highest new entry at Number Two, with Wyclef Jean‘s ‘Perfect Gentleman’ making it a trio of new entries in the Top Three.

A chart expert at HMV in London predicted that Robbie Williams is likely to remain at Number One for the rest of the week.

He said: “Robbie has plenty of promotion lined up for the end of the week, whereas D12 are out of the country. That means that even though things are tight now, his single should go to the top of the charts.”

As a result of the new entries, this week’s Number One, Roger Sanchez‘ ‘Another Chance’ is likely to be pushed down to Number Four.

Elsewhere, Super Furry Animals are still on course to match their biggest hit to date. ‘Juxtapozed With U’ is currently at Number 11, followed by Texas‘ ‘I Don’t Want A Lover 2001’ at Number 15, Ash‘s ‘Sometimes’ at Number 16 and The Avalanches‘ ‘Frontier Psychiatrist’ at Number 17.
