ROBBIE SET TO BOWL POP PUNTERS OVER

NME.COM reveals details of the pop maestro's plans...

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is lining up a huge stadium show for this coming July, NME.COM can reveal.

The star is set to headline the 60,000 capacity Milton Keynes Bowl, the third large outdoor show of the summer for Williams, who has already announced two consecutive nights at Dublin’s 50,000 capacity Landsdowne Road Stadium (July 6, 7).

A spokesperson for Milton Keynes Council told NME.COM that the council was still in discussion over the event with promoters and the BS Group, the consortium which looks after the Bowl. BS Group couldn’t be reached for comment this afternoon, but a spokesperson Gordon Cockhill has told Milton Keynes On Sunday newspaper (November 12) that while “chances are better than even” Robbie would appear, he urged caution claiming “until it’s signed, it’s not definite”. A host of other top names are set to appear alongside Williams.

The Council spokesperson also revealed that the Bowl would host a second large show in August, on a similar scale to the Metallica headlined Big Day Out of 1998. Names are still to be confirmed.

Robbie performs on Thursday night ( November 16) at the MTV Europe Awards show in Stockholm, despite suffering from severe gastro-enteritis. The former Take That dancer, nominated for five awards, is set to duet with Kylie Minogue on their UK number two hit ‘Kids’.
