Robbie Williams will not be performing the next JAMES BOND theme – contrary to rumours circulating in the media.
A spokesperson for Robbie told nme.com: “It’s just one of these rumours that was going round a while back. It’s come up again now, but it?s still not true.”
The speculation was not entirely without foundation – Robbie would be a popular choice to join the ranks of superstars who have previously sung the 007 theme tunes. Over the years, such luminaries as Shirley Bassey, Garbage, Wings, Duran Duran and Sheena Easton have performed the title tune to various Bond blockbusters.
And Robbie‘s first UK solo Number One single ‘Millennium’, with its ‘You Only Live Twice’-sampled strings and video featuring him in a 007-sytle tuxedo, hinted at his passion for the suave secret agent.
