Robbie Williams has launched into another rock feud, this time hitting back at THE DANDY WARHOLS‘ singer COURTNEY TAYLOR.
Robbie, who has been embroiled in a long-running spat with the Gallagher brothers, has written a letter to NME – printed in this week’s issue, on sale today (September 19) in London and the rest of the UK tomorrow – after reading last week’s issue in which Taylor described him as “a hero of artistic villainy” in the magazine’s regular ‘Heroes & Villains’ feature.
It’s the first time Robbie has spoken to the NME since famously walking out of an interview with the paper in 1998.
Courtney said: “Watching the Robbie Williams show, y’know, the vapid, soulless rendition of vapid, soulless songs – and I use the term loosely – music is a generous term.”
In his tongue-in-cheek response, Robbie described it as “a very interesting read” and said to Courtney: “Whilst taking a break from being incredibly tepid, corporate and evil, I was reading the ‘Heroes & Villains’ section of the NME (a wonderful way to start my Tuesday morning)… A very interesting read.
“Now, I don’t like broccoli but it doesn’t stop it from being a vegetable does it?
“Good luck with everything you’ve got going on now and in the future, kind regards Robbie Williams.” He added: “PS You smell like poo and the girls don’t like you. Enjoy your 15 minutes, I am.”
Robbie Williams‘ 21-date UK stadium tour calls at: Birmingham NEC Arena (October 9, 10, 12, 13, 14) Glasgow SECC (16, 17, 18) Newcastle Telewest Arena (20, 21) Manchester Evening News Arena (23, 24, 26, 27, 28) London Arena (October 31, November 1, 2, 4, 5, 6)
Meanwhile The Dandy Warhols embark on a 16-date US tour in Nashville on September 29 and then head to Australia on October 21 for seven dates kicking off in Brisbane at the Livid Festival, with more shows to be announced on their website, [url=]www.dandywarhols.com.
