Former Led Zeppelin singer is ahead of Sam Smith's debut album
Robert Plant is on course to earn a Number One album on the Official UK Albums Chart with his latest album ‘Lullaby And The Ceaseless Roar’.
The album is currently ahead the current Number One album from Sam Smith at today’s midweek stage (September 10). The final chart placings will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday (September 14).
Elsewhere in the Official Albums Chart there are 14 new entries including Ryan Adams (pictured right) with his self-titled new album new at Number Five.
Other new entries are due from Interpol (6), Queen (8), The Kooks (10), Deacon Blue (12), Stiff Little Fingers (15), Banks (17), Jhene Aiko (20), Status Quo (23), Smokey Robinson (26), M.A.D. (27), Phillip Phillips (30), Death From Above 1979 (31), In Flames (37) and Paul Carrack (38)
Meanwhile, the Number One spot on the Official Singles Chart could go to Calvin Harris. Should the British producer hold on to his midweek spot at with ‘Blame’ featuring John Newman it would represent the fifth solo chart topper of his career.
Harris’ four previous chart-toppers as a lead artist were 2009’s ‘I’m Not Alone’, the Florence Welch collaboration ‘Sweet Nothing’, ‘Under Control’ and ‘Summer’, released earlier this year.
The only other new entry on this week’s Official Singles Chart at the midweek stage come from Chris Brown, who is currently sitting in the Top Ten with his song ‘New Flame’, featuring Usher and Rick Ross.
