Robyn heads back to studio to work on ‘Body Talk’ follow-up

Swedish synth-pop act ready to write next album

Robyn has revealed that she is ready to write and record her next album.

The Swedish electro-pop act released the three ‘Body Talk’ albums in 2010 and has spent her time since promoting the songs on the road, including support slots with Katy Perry and Coldplay. However, the singer says she finds it difficult writing new music on tour.

“Touring and writing doesn’t work,” the singer told BBC Newsbeat. “I’m coming off the road so I can release something quicker. Everyone’s asking when there will be new stuff: The labels I work with, the fans, the journalists.”

She added: “To be honest, I’m just happy someone cares. I’ve been trying to write new stuff but as soon as another tour comes up, my ideas go out of my head. I start thinking about rehearsals instead.”

Robyn recently played a headline show at Brixton Academy in London. Scroll down the page to see Robyn’s 60 Second Interview with NME.COM.

Robyn released her debut LP ‘Robyn Is Here’ in 1995. She followed it up in 1999 with ‘My Truth’ followed by 2002’s ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ and her 2005 self-titled LP. In 2010 she released her trilogy of ‘Body Talk’ records.
