The former Faces bandmates stay off the beer for just a few hours to record some new material...

ROD STEWART and RONNIE WOOD are reported to have recorded a new track together titled ‘YOU STRUM AND I’LL SING’.

The former Faces bandmates reunited in Wood‘s studio in Surrey on Tuesday (March 27), according to The Sun newspaper today (March 29), which quotes Stewart as describing the new song as “like the really early old Faces stuff”. He continued: “It’s very loose. We were singing with our arms around each other. Ronnie wrote a great set of lyrics and he plays everything on it – drums, keyboards and guitars. It’s great working with him again.”

He also told the newspaper that the pair have a lot of unreleased Faces tracks “which we’ve made into a sort of Moby thing”.

The two will perform ‘Maggie May’ together on the Parkinson chat show on in the UK on Saturday night (March 31), to mark the 30th anniversary of the track hitting Number One.
