SANCHEZ TOPS CHART

And Travis maintain their stranglehold on albums for a fourth week...

Veteran DJ ROGER SANCHEZhas today (July 8) scored his first UK Number One single, seeing ‘ANOTHER CHANCE’ dump last week’s chart topper by HEAR’SAY to Number Five.

While R&B girl supergroup of Aguilera, Mya, Lil’ Kim and Pink see their ‘Lady Marmalade’ cover hang on at Number Two, MTV favourites Wheatus score the second highest new entry of the week at Number Three with their cover of Erasure’s ‘A Little Respect’. The only other entry on the Top Ten this week is from OPM, who take ‘Heaven Is A Halfpipe’ in at Number Four.

Both Jessica Simpson, with ‘There’ll You’ll Be’ and Damage, with ‘So What If I’ narrowly miss the Ten as they go at 11 and 12 respectively. Blink-182, at 14 with ‘The Rock Show’, and Louis Walsh’ new hopes Bellefire, at 18 with debut ‘Perfect Bliss’ are the only other new entries on the Top 20.

Weezer see ‘Hash Pipe’ appear at 21, while Feeder go in at 27 with ‘Turn’ and The Beta Bandat 30 with ‘Broke/Won’.

Travis hold onto the Number One spot on the album chart for a fourth week with ‘The Invisible Band’, during a week that sees no new entries on the Top Ten. The only new appearances on the Top 20 come from James at 11 with ‘Pleased To Meet You’ and veteran torch songstress Bonnie Tyler at 18 with her ‘Greatest Hits’. Trip-hop’s original star ‘Tricky’ sees his much hyped comeback album ‘Blowback’ slump in at a lowly 34.
