Roisin Murphy gets the crowd dancing at Oxegen Festival

Former Moloko singer stages spectacular show in Pet Sounds tent

Roisin Murphy got the crowd dancing at the Oxegen Festival tonight (July 13) as she staged a spectacular show in the Pet Sounds tent.

The former Moloko singer brought on a four-piece band plus two backing dancers for a set which saw her make several costume changes.

Opening the show with ‘Cry Baby’, Murphy sang from behind the stage before she came on sporting black shades.

Throughout the set, which comprised of tracks from her debut album ‘Ruby Blue’ and 2007 follow up ‘Overpowered’, she changed into a number of outfits including a Red Riding Hood coat and a black tassled dress.

The singer also threw in Moloko track ‘Forever More’ taken from her previous band’s 2003 album ‘Statues’.

Throughout the show she danced like a robot alongside her backing dancers and at one point she wrestled her guitarist to the ground.

Wrapping up her performance with ‘Ramalama (Bang Bang)’ she took part in a fake fist fight with her dancers.

Roisin Murphy played:

‘Cry Baby’

‘Forever More’

‘Let Me Know’

‘You Know Me Better’

‘Ruby Blue’

‘Movie Star’

‘Ramalama (Bang Bang)’
