Ronan Keating’s tribute to his mother tops the UK album chart

Pete Doherty and La Roux also feature in this week's charts

Ronan Keating‘s aptly-titled album ‘Songs For My Mother’ has shot to the top of the UK album chart this evening (March 22).

Keating‘s album isn’t the only new entry to benefit from the fact today is Mothers’ Day, with new entries by Lionel Richie, Bette Midler and Barry Manilow also featuring in the upper echelons of the Top 40.

Pete Doherty‘s debut solo album ‘Grace/Wastelands’ is the third highest new entry in the chart at Number 17, while last week’s Number One album – U2‘s ‘No Line On The Horizon’ – drops five places to Number Six.
