Royal Blood just announced their first gig of 2019

Here we go.

Royal Blood look set for a comeback in 2019, having just been announced to perform at Lowlands Festival.

The Brighton rock duo, who are believed to have been in the studio working on the follow-up to 2017’s ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ took to Twitter to share a new photo and confirm that they’ll be heading to the Dutch event alongside the likes of The Prodigy, The National, Tame Impala, ASAP Rocky, Twenty One Pilots, Billie Eilish, New Order and Franz Ferdinand.

Lowlands Festival takes place from August 16-18 at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen in the Netherlands. Further European and UK tour dates are expected to follow shortly.

Speaking to NME about their next album last year, frontman Mike Kerr said: “As long as it’s rock music, and it’s me and him smashing the shit out of some instruments and having a laugh, then it could be a reggae record for all that we care.”

Asked about their time on the road with Queens Of The Stone Age, Kerr added: “It was sobering, in a way. They really looked after us, actually. We just hung out a lot. We went for dinner all the time together, and they’re just really nice people. We got to watch them play every night, and I feel like we’ve become a much better band because of it.”

But who can drink more tequila?

Simple: “Josh Homme.”
