ROYAL VISIT CANCELLED

A serious illness in the family of guitarist/vocalist Jennifer Herrema causes the cancellation...

Royal Trux have pulled out of their two appearances at the CARLING WEEKENDER at READING (August 25) and LEEDS (28), nme.com can reveal.

A serious illness in the family of guitarist/vocalist Jennifer Herrema is being blamed. The illness had led to the cancellation of previous dates in the US and has also forced the scrapping of another leg in North America, due to kick off in Vancouver tomorrow (August 2).

Tentative dates for a September UK and European tour have also been pulled. However, a spokesperson for the band confirmed they hoped to reschedule some dates before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, they release new single ‘Sunshine and Grease’, the first to be lifted from June’s ‘Pound For Pound’ album, on August 28 through Domino.

The track follows the Jagz Kooner-remixed previous single ‘Dirty Headlines’ in May.

The Royal Trux husband and wife duo of Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema have recently completed production on Irish band Chicks‘ debut album.
