The acts will perform at Finsbury Park on July 21 at the free event, joining veteran reggae star Desmond Dekker and saxophonist Courtney Pine as well as a host of London performers and comedians.
London mayor Ken Livingstone said he believed the event, , said he believed it the anti-racism event, which organisers hope will become an annual occurrence, was timely.
“Recent events in Oldham, Leeds and Bradford show that there is still much to be done to combat racism and that we can take nothing for granted. I want to work with others to rebuild that collective spirit, which says that racism is totally unacceptable and has no place in a city as diverse as London,” he said.
