Giant cats storm city in video for Run the Jewels’ ‘Oh No Darlin (Don’t Meow)’ – watch

The charity album, initially a joke by the band, was released last week

A song from Run The Jewels‘ cat-themed charity remix album ‘Meow The Jewels’ has received its own feline-filled video.

In the clip for ‘Oh My Darling (Don’t Meow)’, Just Blaze’s remix of ‘Oh My Darling (Don’t Cry)’, giant cats destroy a model city, shooting laser beams from their eyes and pawing at nearby helicopters.

The first ever cat remix album, which originated from a joke, was released for free last week after a Kickstarter campaign by the band generated over $60,000 (£40,000), with most of the funds going to charity.

‘Meow The Jewels’ features Snoop Dogg, Massive Attack’s 3D, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Blood Diamonds, Boots, Zola Jesus, Just Blaze and more.

Released last October, ‘Run The Jewels 2’ was El-P and Killer Mike’s second full-length as Run The Jewels. The 11-track record featured collaborations with Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha and Blink 182’s Travis Barker, among others.

Meanwhile, last month saw the pair perform at Banksy’s ‘bemusement park’ Dismaland.

The hip-hop duo played at the venue, in Weston-super-Mare, on September 4, and were also pictured hanging out with Portishead’s Geoff Barrow and Massive Attack’s Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja.

Dismaland boasts work from Banksy himself, as well as artists including Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer and Jimmy Cauty. The previously derelict seafront lido will be open for six weeks, with bands playing live each Friday night.
