Run The Jewels share ‘clean version’ of ‘Run The Jewels 2’ album

Rapper El-P says the censored version is for 'DJs who work at places that don't allow uncensored music'

Run The Jewels have shared a “clean version” of their recent album ‘Run The Jewels 2’.

The rap duo, who are also releasing a remix LP of the full-length made only from cat noises, have dropped this new censored version via Twitter.

El-P wrote: “if for some reason you want a copy of the clean version of RTJ2, here it is… “who the hell would want that, el???” DJs who work at places that don’t allow uncensored music, for one. calm down.”

Meanwhile, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page could be teaming up with rap duo Run The Jewels, after the two acts met at this year’s NME Awards with Austin, Texas.

Hip-hop pair El-P and Killer Mike performed at the awards ceremony, which was held at the O2 Academy Brixton in south London last month (February 18), later meeting the legendary musician backstage. Speaking to NME at the time, Run The Jewels joked that they wanted to “kidnap” Page.

Now the organisers of Field Day festival have revealed that they’re plotting to unite Jimmy Page and Run The Jewels live on stage. Field Day have set up a Facebook event called ‘Can we get Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) to guest with Run the Jewels at Field Day 2015?!’

The organisers write: “After that picture of Jimmy Page and Run the Jewels at the NME Awards appeared in February, we got to thinking – what if they really would come to together to form the best super-group of 2015? So here we are, asking for you to help us make the dream come true! Spread the word to help make Field Day 2015 a year to remember.”

Run The Jewels were recently announced as among the acts set to perform at Field Day, which takes place between June 6-7 at London’s Victoria Park.
