Record Store Day takes place on April 21st

Run the Jewels have been named as the ambassador’s for 2018’s Record Store Day.

This year’s Record Store Day takes place on April 21st. Previous ambassadors for Record Store Day have included St Vincent, Dave Grohl, Jack White, Metallica, Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, and Chuck D.

El-P tweeted the news, writing: “BRING ME MY SCEPTER AND CEREMONIAL ROBE, FOR @runjewels ARE THIS YEARS RECORD STORE DAY AMBASSADORS. i was told i can park anywhere now.”

The rap duo are currently getting ready to head out on tour with Lorde, Tove Stryke and Mitski.

One Twitter user hit out at El-P for touring with Lorde, writing “Very Punk Rock of You Unc” to which El-P replied: “shit. would it be more punk rock to not play with another musician i respect because someone i dont know doesnt think its “punk” or should i just do what i want to do as per usual? this is the shit that keeps me up at night.”
