Ryan Adams covers Neil Young’s ‘Cinnamon Girl’ at NeilFest – watch

Adams was among the musicians performing at the Neil Young tribute festival in New York

Ryan Adams covered Neil Young‘s ‘Cinnamon Girl’ during his performance at the opening night of NeilFest last night (September 13).

The annual tribute concert held in honour of Neil Young is currently taking place at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The two-day festival ends tonight (September 14).

As reported by Pitchfork, Adams played a cover of ‘Cinnamon Girl’, before Norah Jones joined him onstage for ‘Old Man’.


He was later joined by Body/Head, the duo consisting of Kim Gordon and Bill Nace, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Nick Zinner. The show closed with ‘Helpless’ performed as a collaborative finale led by Valerie June.

Elsewhere, Ryan Adams recently surprised his fans with news that he was recording a full cover album of Taylor Swift‘s ‘1989’. Adams has kept his fans updated, sharing clips of songs via social media. He recently posted an update claiming the album was at the “finish line” and was ready to be mixed and mastered.


Upon hearing about the record, Swift expressed her excitement, saying that she would “pass out”. Later adding: “not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I’m going to celebrate today every year as a holiday”.
