ALL I NEED IS DOVES!

And he wants to make it at Abbey Road...

Ryan Adams is hoping to record his next album in LONDON’s ABBEY ROAD with Doves as his band, NME.COM can reveal.

Speaking in London last week at the beginning of his current UK and Ireland acoustic tour, Ryan Adams said he had approached the band and was waiting to see if things could be sorted out.

“I love this place,” he said of London. “Can you imagine how cool it’d be to record at Abbey Road. And Doves are just the best. It’d be so cool to work with them.”

Adams has completed work on ‘Love Is Hell’, his follow-up proper to 2001’s ‘Gold’. The album will be released in February 2003. It is after this album release that work with Doves is slated to begin. Doves have previously played as backing band for Badly Drawn Boy.

Meanwhile, Ryan Adams ‘ opening show (November 11) of his UK tour was full of the peculiar covers and unique chat that has become his hallmark. Subdued to begin with – Ryan Adams said he felt intimidated playing in the rarefied hush of the Royal Festival Hall – he soon warmed up.
