PUTTING ON DURITZ

Counting Crows' Adam Duritz joins him onstage in Boston...

COUNTING CROWS‘ ADAM DURITZ joined RYAN ADAMS on stage in BOSTON over the weekend.

The still-dreadlocked Duritz took to the stage to sing backing vocals on ‘Answering Bell’ from Adams‘ new album ‘Gold’.

Duritz, who appeared as a background singer on the sessions for ‘Gold’, simply shrugged when his microphone appeared not to work, and shook off Adams‘ assertion that the Counting Crows would have a new album out soon.

Later in the show Duritz helped Adams with his newly revealed cover of ‘Rocket Man’, first performed with Elton John himself during a stop at the New York Irving Plaza last week.

Throughout the rest of his set, Adams was in a rollicking mood, ignoring the requests for Bryan Adams‘ ‘Summer of ’69’ and ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It For You’ and knocking out an impromptu cover of Black Flag‘s ‘Nervous Breakdown’ instead.

Adams returns to the UK and Ireland for live performances later this month.

He plays: London Shepherds Bush Empire (October 17)
