The seven-piece see off challenge of Destiny's Child

S CLUB 7 went straight into the UK chart at Number One today as ‘DON’T STOP MOVIN’ moved DESTINY’S CHILD‘s ‘SURVIVOR’ to second place after a week at the top.

There were only two other new entries on the Top Ten as Depeche Mode returned after a long lay-off at Number Six with ‘Dream On’ and Fatboy Slim went in at Ten with ‘Star 69’. Starsailor narrowly missed a first Top Ten placing as second single ‘Good Souls’ charted at 12. Spookscould only manage 15 with ‘Karma Hotel’ while nu-metal’s Papa Roach‘s ‘Between Angels And Insects’ struck at 17.

In a very quiet week, returning indie nearly men Shed 7 scored the only other Top 30 hit as ‘Cry For Help’ scraped in at 30. K Warren feat. Lee O with ‘Coming

Home’, J Majik feat. Kathy Brown with ‘Love Is Not A Game’, Elbow with ‘Red’ and ‘I Wanna Know’ by Joe at 37 are the only other entries in the Top 40.

In the album charts, Northern Ireland’s Ash saw off the competition of Janet Jackson to take ‘Free All Angels’ in at One, a place above Jackson’s ‘All For You’. Feeder‘s ‘Echo Park’, meanwhile, charts at Number Five. In the only other significant movement on the chart, Ronan Keating leaps from 63 to 6 with his self-titled album.
