Ashcroft releases ‘C’Mon People (We’re Making It Now)’, the third single from his debut solo album ‘Alone With Everybody’, while Primal Scream mark the last ever release on Creation Records with ‘Accelerator’. Finley Quaye makes his comeback today with ‘Spiritualized’, the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Vanguard’.
However, Kylie Minogue and S Club 7 are expected to be the highest new entries this coming Sunday (September 17). Minogue is looking to equal the success of her number one single, ‘Spinning Around’ with ‘On A Night Like This’, while S Club 7‘s new single is ‘Natural’.
A spokesperson for HMV in London told nme.com that it was likely that S Club 7 would be the highest chart placing this Sunday, although Minogue would challenge them, as would the Sugababes with their debut single ‘Overload’, which received NME Single of the Week.
He said: “It’s another one of those weeks where it is too close to call but we suspect it will be S Club 7. Kylie might make number three, but opinion here is that the single is strong, but not as strong as ‘Spinning Around’.”
Speaking about the Sugababes he said: “It’s very catchy, hopefully it’ll go top 5. They’ve got a lot of TV, and if NME gave it Single Of The Week, then they must be doing something right!”
