‘Can’t Get Enough Of Myself’, a satirical take on what Santigold calls “America’s vanity epidemic”, is the lead single from the Brooklyn-based artist’s third album ’99¢’, which was released last Friday (February 26).

Explaining that the album explores themes including commercialism, corporate branding and selfie culture, Santigold said recently: “We have no illusion that we don’t live in this world where everything is packaged. People’s lives, persona; everything is deliberate and mediated. It can be dark and haunting and tricky, and freak us out, but it can be also be silly and fun and we can learn to play with it.”

The album features songs co-written by Santigold with her regular collaborator John Hill, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Dave Sitek, Robyn collaborator Patrik Berger, Cathy Dennis and former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij.

’99¢’ follows on from the artist’s self-titled 2008 debut album, which featured the hit single ‘L.E.S. Artistes’, and 2012’s second effort ‘Master Of My Make-Believe’.

Santigold will tour North America from later this month until May but has yet to announce any UK dates.
