Footage of Savages playing a new song titled ‘Adore’ live in New York has been revealed.
The fan footage was shot during a recent gig by the band at New York’s Mercury Lounge venue. It is one of a number of new songs the band spent time road-testing during a number of live shows in the city.
Introducing the track, singer Jehnny Beth said: “This is about life and death… When you realise life has so much importance. So it may sound negative, but it’s also a positive song.”
Savages released their debut album ‘Silence Yourself’ in May 2013, and the LP was subsequently nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. Jehnny Beth wrote a blog post about the annual prize, insisting that the nomination didn’t “change anything”.
Beth also criticised the “system of class” at music festivals in a separate blog posted last year.
