The pop princess duets on 'Any Which Way'
The Australian pop legend was introduced to the crowd as a lucky festival goer who the band had invited onstage to sing with them.
Singing with the band on ‘Any Which Way’, a grinning Kylie – clad in a black cape – and Scissor Sisters singers Jake Shears and Ana Matronic showed off synchronised dance moves and led the crowd in a clap-along.
Kylie kissed Shears and Matronic on the lips after the song. When she had left the stage Matronic told the audience, “And just so you know, her hair smells terrific!”
Taking to the stage at 8.15pm, with Shears and Matronic clad in shredded jeans and a one-armed dress with tassels on the sleeve, the band played to a huge, dancing crowd.
Shears told the crowd that today was a very special day for him, dedicating ‘Skin Tight’ to his boyfriend Chris, with whom he first went out with at Glastonbury six years ago.
“Over at Lost Vagueness I asked him to marry me when I was off my face,” said Shears, “we haven’t done it yet.”
After ‘She’s My Man’, Matronic told the crowd how this was her fifth Glastonbury, despite her band only having played the festival twice. She then dedicated ‘Tits On The Radio’ to her friend Carol who she had met in the crowd at a previous Glastonbury.
A talkative Matronic went on to pledge allegiance to the flags in the crowd and “the altered states they represent” adding, “Thank you Mr Eavis for a fucking great 40 years.”
Scissor Sisters played:
‘She’s My Man’
‘Tits On The Radio’
‘Whole New Way’
‘Take Your Mama’
‘Fire With Fire’
‘Any Which Way’
‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’
