Former Sepultura mainman MAX CAVALERA and SEAN LENNON have combined on a track by CAVALERA‘s new outfit SOULFLY for inclusion on their second album ‘PRIMITIVE’, due for release on September 25.

Also featured on the album are Slayer singer Tom Araya, Slipknot‘s Cory Taylor and Deftones’ Chino Moreno.

Cavalero and Lennon come together on ‘Son Song’, on ode to both their fathers. Cavalero‘s father died, like Sean‘s, when he was very young.

They met while sharing a tourbus on the Big Day Out jaunt around Australia in 1999 and explains Cavalero: “We found out that we had a lot of similar musical tastes like Japanese hardcore and he was also into my music with Sepultura and Soulfly. He told me that he liked the fact that my music was heavy but didn’t have lyrics about Satan and shit like that. From that time on I thought it would be cool to do a song with him, and it really is unlike anything I have done before as our voices are so different.”

The Brazilian has also ruled out a Sepultura reunion, indicating that he will return to the UK with Soulfly in September for a full tour.
