Former SEX PISTOL and scourge of Britain’s ruling classes JOHNNY ROTTEN has been named amongst the top 100 Britons of all time in a list that also includes three of THE BEATLES, ROBBIE WILLIAMS , [a][/a] and DJ JOHN PEEL.
The list, the result of a new BBC poll, allowed Ireland to be part of the catchment area and so Bono and Bob Geldof also appear.
However, Ringo Starr is snubbed, while John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison all make it. The Rolling Stones are all ignored.
The peculiar collection, which is all white and features few women, also throws up a number of other surprises. Celebrated satanist Aleister Crowley and one of the faces on the ‘Sgt. Pepper’ album is included, as is Guy Fawkes, the man who plotted blowing up Parliament in 1605.
