Malcolm McLaren‘s influence on the music world has been celebrated in a new NME.COM video tribute, which you can watch now.
The Sex Pistols manager passed away of cancer last week (April 8), and NME‘s sister title Uncut‘s editor Allan Jones, along with NME Editorial Director Steve Sutherland, speak about McLaren and his career.
“McLaren wasn’t unique in his viewpoint, but he became an absolutely essential catalyst for what happened in 1975, 76 and especially 77,” Jones explained. “I think he did have a very vivid vision of what music could be, of the music that became punk and what we recognise as punk.”
