Move over Jennifer Lopez - the veteran rapper finds himself back in fashion...

SHAGGY has knocked JENNIFER LOPEZ from the top of the BILLBOARD 200 album chart – his first US album chart-topper.

His album ‘Hotshot’ shifted 245,000 to fire to the top, well ahead of Lopez’s ‘J. Lo’ which sold 179,000 on its second week.

Shaggy is also Number One in the US Hot 100 singles chart with ‘It Wasn’t Me’.

It all marks an incredible reversal in fortune for Shaggy. ‘Hotshot’ was released last August, and at one point dipped to 137 on the chart. However sales haven’t dropped below 100,000 sales per week for over two months, and to date has sold over 2.8 million in the US alone.

The Beatles ‘1’ compilation, which kept Shaggy at number two for four weeks, shows little sign of significantly slacking, notching up a further 159,000 sales to remain at Number Four.

Rappers Ja Rule and Ludacris climb significantly to stride through the Top 10 – Rule moving from Ten to Five, with ‘Rule 3:36’ selling 99,000, and Ludacris selling 85,000 copies of ‘Back For The First Time’ to leap from 14 to Eight.
