This year's most unlikely chart star and the Scots jangle merchants are top of the midweek singles and albums chart respectively...

SHAGGY is set to hold onto the top spot in the UK single charts for a third week, with ‘ANGEL’, holding off a glut of other new entries, while TRAVIS are bound for the top of the album charts.

Pop trio Mis-Teeq are currently Number Two in the midweeks in the singles with their debut track ‘All I Want’, a place ahead of Stereophonics with ‘Have A Nice Day’.

Shaggy sold 15,000 copies yesterday (June 11), 5,000 ahead of Mis-Teeq. The Stereophonics, though, remain in a strong position with 9,000 sales, and a spokesperson for HMV has said they are likely to maintain their placing.

Long dead rapper Tupac Shakur is set to score yet another posthumous hit with the Mr. Mister sampling ‘Until The End Of Time’ at Five, one ahead of rap-rock figureheads Limp Bizkit and ‘My Way’.

Just outside the Top Ten after a day of sales are Daft Punk with ‘Digital Love’ and Sticky, at 12 with ‘Booo’. Retro ravers Public Domain are currently at 19, one ahead of pop act Allstars.

Meanwhile, Travis are a cert for Number One on the album charts with return album ‘The Invisible Band’. The album shifted 41,000 on its first day of sales, almost three times as many asBlink 182, who with 13,000 so far are bound for Number Two with ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’. Radiohead drop off the top, and are currently at Number Four with ‘Amnesiac’.
